1 World Flight Club.
1World Flight Club is a rapidly growing Flying Club based at Tipton Airport that was formed in the winter of 2005. The 1WFC owns and operates a Socata TB9 and operates it's airplane in joint venture with the flight training service 1World Aero. 1WFC seeks to provide an economical source of aircraft for flight training and rental. 1World Aero, the original flight training service that was founded at Tipton during May of 2003, contributes its TB10 and PA34 to the flight club fleet. 1World Aero's aircraft are operated by the 1World Flight Club through a Joint Letter of Agreement. Under the Letter of Agreement all aircraft rentals are billed through the flight club at reduced rates to members who contribute monthly dues. These monthly dues are used to cover the fixed costs of the aircraft operations, meaning insurance and tiedown. Dispatching, aircraft management (scheduling, parts orders, upkeep, and maintenance arrangements), and training services are provided by 1World Aero. Flight clubs structure their monthly dues to pay for its fixed aircraft costs, and therefore the club aircraft rental rates can be set to an at the lowest possible at cost rate based on its membership levels. Another significant advantage of joining a flight club is reasonable access to an aircraft for traveling on overnight or extended flights. This access is generally a major attraction and motivation to the individual pilot for getting their license. However, unless you buy your own airplane this is often not an option for many private pilots. Many flight schools charge a high minimum number of hours for such overnights and extended rentals, often coming out to 3 to 4 hours for the day. These high minimums are especially enforced during much sought-after weekends, when pilots have time available to fly. In contrast, when taking a Club aircraft on an overnight or multiple day trip, the 1WFC only requires that at least one flight hour be placed on the airplane per day that it is rented. The club Tampico is optimized for training and thus priority is given to its use for Private pilot training Monday through Saturday, while the Tobago is optimized for longer weekend cross country or overnight flights. Special emphasis is placed on insuring that the Tobago is available for instrument training during the middle of the week. Another important reason to join 1World Flight Club is to be part of an aviation community that encourages and supports its members to move forward and to stay proficient. The club provides a means of finding other like minded pilots with whom to share your flying experiences, be it through comparing notes, swapping stories, or splitting flight time. The1World Flight Club holds bimonthly flyouts, where by the entire fleet is committed for group rental to fly as many members as possible to a particular nearby lunch destination. This allows members to meet each other, fly together, and build a rapport. Members who have not been flying regularly are able to fly with other members in a supported environment, which helps them to maintain their proficiency and motivation. |
