Commercial, CFI, CFII Training
At 1World Aero & Flight Club, the Commercial Rating, CFI license, and CFII rating are all completed as add on courses to existing multi-engine initial certificates. After completing a Multi-engine commercial instrument checkride in our Seneca, the candidate returns for brief training for the single-engine commercial in our Club Tampico, which is the simplest and most economical aircraft that we operate. The initial commercial and CFI checkrides, must be performed in retractable gear aircraft, hence the proposed order of training (due our operation of a multi-engine retractable gear airplane). The bulk of the Single Engine commercial training is spent learning three completely new manuevers: Lazy 8's, Chandelles, and 8's on Pylons. The candidate should already be comfortable performing stalls and steep turns and short and soft landings from previous training and time building in the Tampico. Training for the CFI is also completed on our VFR Tampico after an initial MEI is obtained on the Seneca, while the CFII is performed on the IFR capable Tobago, after completion of the CFI add on. The CFI training focuses on teaching Lazy 8's, 8's on Pylons, and Chandelles, while flying from the right side of the airplane, where the instructor usually sits. CFII training reviews all aspects of instrument proficiency, and requires the candidate to explain what they are doing while flying from the right side of the airplane. The relevant CFII training cost numbers below assume that the candidate is Instrument proficient. Again, as in the instrument training, home use of a flight simulator is very beneficial.
