Benefits of Joining 1 World Flight Club.
A flight club provides at cost airplane rental, which is significantly lower than that charged by flight schools. Furthermore a flight club provides better access to rental aircraft for overnight and extended rentals. However, the greatest reason to join a flight club is for the ability to meet other pilots with similar interests. Great emphasis is placed by the Flight Club's management on organizing fly outs every other month whereby the fleet is reserved for a Saturday afternoon so that as many members as would like to participate can fly out together to a nearby lunch destination. These Fly Outs are opportunities for members to get to know one another and to build friendships. These friendships can be an important factor in helping pilots stay proficient long after completing all the required training. A pilot who has friends to fly with is more likely to keep flying, and thus to stay proficient and motivated. Not only does this support network of flying club friends help to improve safety, but it also helps to make flying more affordable, as friends share flight costs and flight experiences, while "splitting time." The Flight club also has a commitment to helping its members succeed by providing mentors to new members in training who desire to receive such support. This kind of mentoring can be as simple as calling up a club member with a practical or theory question, or can involve riding along with other members during private flights or club fly outs This spirit of assistance is also formalized by the Club's Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation, which spell out the club's commitment to increasing member access to eventual aviation employment for those who actively desire to pursue this avenue. 1WFC helps provide at cost aircraft rental, and uses its mentoring networks to help push candidates along as they prepare for the many ratings needed before any of them can dream of becoming a professional pilot. In fact, the 1World Flight Club is in the process of developing an expanded formal outreach program to be run by club volunteers. |
